My mind is persistently coming up with music videos for songs I am listening to. Sometimes pairing them with TV-shows I've watched. I actually posses quite advanced skills in video and sound editing, but to create one of these fantasies would be a lot of work with not much reward in the end. However my imagination won't quit nagging me about this so I will write them down, who knows, maybe one of these will actually turn into a fun project. Or maybe my imagination will leave these geeky ideas here in this blog post and let me get inspired to make something way more awesome and creative instead.
Scissor Sisters - I Can't Decide (whether you should live or die) would make a perfect soundtrack for a hilarious Dexter mashup video. Lila from season 2 or 3? would fit very in there, but Dexter has a love/hate relationship with most characters on the show including himself.
UPDATE ~ I searched YouTube and it exists. In many variations by different people. On one hand I'm relieved that the tension is released as this baby has been given life already. On the other hand they are all WRONG. In my imagination the scenes change very quickly in pace with the fast music and only the choicest most hilarious scenes are used. The stuff on the internet is too slow and serious. WTF ppl live up to my fantasy or I will have to roll up my sleeves! But who really wants to watch 6 seasons of a show just to pull scenes for a 3-min clip? Oh but to re-watch Dexter may be quite fun. :D
"Friends" by Lighting Love This song is sung by Mamimi from FLCL. My mind will accept no other explanation for the nasal cute voice, especially when you listen to her sad attempts to find her friends. Just throw some sad Mamimi images in there and it'll be PERFECT. I searched YouTube, it doesn't exist. In fact it seems like nobody even knows this song. I hear it all the time because I guess I've trained my Pandora to play cute girly songs.
Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri makes me think of "Howl's Moving Castle" by Diana Wynne Jones. There is a wizard in that book known for stealing hearts, and the main character assumes this is literal. Upon finding herself added to his household staff, her first thought is to go looking for jars where he stores "girls' hearts".
Underground by Voltaire Now this is a man who sings songs mostly about Vampires. Not in an artsy veiled way either. Pretty directly actually. So obviously super easy to turn into a fanvid for any vampire movie. However - this song is actually pretty good by itself and isn't as directly cheesy, also the lyrics are interesting. And still whenever I hear it scenes from Buffy the Vampire Slayer play in my head. Especially since in the song the "main character" *coughVAMPIREcough* seems to be trying to run away from a girl, but is drawn to her at the same time. Oh I could have a field day editing this together from the last 3 seasons of the show. Strangely this idea doesnt seem to have struck anyone else on the internets yet.
